What does it take to become a Royal Marine?

When selected for the training course recruits then have thirty-two weeks ahead of them to train to be a Royal Marine. The training course is divided into six modules, beginning with the Foundation Module and ending with the King’s Squad Pass Out Week. Throughout the course Marine recruits will be gradually trained and tested until they become an operationally ready Royal Marine Commando.

The Royal Marines Museum features an up to date, interactive exhibition on 'The Making of the Royal Marines Commando'. If you believe your future lies in the Royal Marines make sure you visit the Museum first to see what your future holds for you.

Sgt Stone DSM RM

The family of Sergeant Leonard Stone donated his service papers, photographs and medals to the museum collection. The medal group contains the gallantry medal the Distinguished Service Medal for his actions whilst serving at sea in the Second World War.
