Easter Holiday Activities

"Get me out of here" - Commando Survival Training Sat 5 to Mon 21 Apr

Prepare for survival missions by getting your kit in order and learn how Royal Marines prepare for their secret missions. Make your own compass, silk map and see how a Royal Marine's kit has evolved through the ages.

Plus Commando Fit activities outside on the assault course!

Part of our ‘Survival’ themed year of activities. Activities run in all weather conditions.

Aimed at family audiences.  Normal Museum admission applies.

Wedding Fayre

We are delighted to join forces with PMN Wedding Fayres to present up to 50 top class wedding suppliers on display. This ‘one stop’ wedding extravaganza offers beautiful dresses, amazing photography, incredible flowers and so much more all set out in the sumptuous setting of the Royal Marines Museum.

You will see beautiful dresses, amazing photography, incredible flowers and so much more in a collection of magnificent rooms.

£1.50 entrance fee to wedding show only.

RM350 Royal Marines Association Concert Band

Thursday 15 May 6.30pm-9.30pm

The Royal Marines Museum is delighted to welcome back the Royal Marines Association Concert Band for their first concert of the year at the Royal Marines Museum in 2014.

A band comprising of  50 former Royal Marines musicians, are committed to providing the highest standard of performance and musical excellence, always thrilling audiences just as the five remaining Royal Marines Bands have done for over a century. This, their first concert of the year, celebrates 350 years of Royal Marines in the splendour of the grand Mountbatten Room.

£15 per person or buy 1 ticket for May & 1 for September for just £25.00

RM350 1664 Challenge

Monday 26 May 9.30am-10am

From the Royal Marines Museum, the 1664 RM Challenge Team will launch the start of their 1664km (1034 miles) run around England and across Scotland.  Passing through major towns and cities including Exeter, Plymouth, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Reading, they will average 18 miles per day for a total of 58 days.

They will march from the Museum to Canoe Lake, where the run will start along with a Royal Marines Band performance.

RM350 Sea Soldiers – journey through time

Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 June 10am-5pm

To celebrate RM350, prepare to immerse yourself in the story of the Royal Marines since 1664! Re-enactors and performers bring 4 centuries of history to life through stunning combat displays, thrilling battle re-enactments, social living campments, food, fashion and music from 1664 to present day and a host of interactive experiences. With plenty to keep the whole family entertained, this is a weekend you will not want to miss.

Adult £10, Child (10-16) £8, Child (5-9) £5, Child (under 4) FREE.
Free admission into the Museum included in ticket price. Parking fee payable on entry to the car park

Sunday 29 June starts at 10am

A veterans parade honours those from the Parachute Regiment & Airborne Forces who gave their lives in the Falklands Campaign, where of course many of the Regiment made the ultimate sacrifice.

RM350 Royal Marines Summer Band Concert

Sunday 6 July grounds open from 12pm onwards,concert starts 1.00pm

An afternoon of musical celebration from 1664 to present day. The Band of Her Majesty’s Royal Marines School of Music takes you on a journey through 4 centuries of Royal Marine history, including readings, solos, narrative and BBC Radio 4’s Paddy O’Connell as your celebrity compere. Plus new for 2014 - top Swing/Jump-Blues Band 'Blue Harlem who are regular players on the London scene featuring in the world famous venues such as Ronnie Scott's, The 100 Club, the Hippodrome and Hideaway.

Bring a picnic, or enjoy a scrumptious hamper, position your deck chairs and enjoy the sights and sounds of this world famous band.  Other acts to be announced.

RM350 Ride

Saturday 2 to Sunday 3 Aug

As part of the year-long RM350 celebrations, the Museum will host the start and finish of a 350 km road bicycle endurance event; the route will take in 3 military establishments, Bovington, Taunton and Lympstone. Taking part in the cycle is limited to RM350 elite cyclists.

Sunday will host the riders finishing, many stalls, arena displays and much more for all public, a donation to the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund is welcomed.

Sat 12pm Riders start

Sun 10am - 5pm

Normal Museum admission applies and Parking fee payable on entry to the car park.

RM350 Lecture Series - Talk by Major General David Hook RM CBE

Wednesday 10 September 6.30pm-8.45pm

Another in the series of the RM350 lectures. Guest speaker Major General David Hook RM CBE will present a lecture on his ‘Personal insight into the changes of command in modern warfare’ 

Major General David Hook, Royal Marines, recently completed a year in Kabul as Director of the Force Reintegration Cell at HQ International Security Force (ISAF). He previously served in the UK Ministry of Defence as Head of Navy Resources and Programmes during the Defence Review and in Afghanistan as deputy commander of Regional Command South during the planning and implementation of the US surge.

£5 per person to include a glass of wine or soft drink on arrival.

Supper package available: Lasagne / vegetarian option available, mixed salad, chunky bread and butter. This is 1 course meal and served hot buffet style) £7.50 per person

The supper is an additional option to the standard ticket: Lecture and glass of wine/soft drink £5.00, upgrade for an additional £7.50 for the supper.
