In recent years the demand for copies of images has increased in line with the development of new technology and methods of using and viewing images. In parallel to this, copyright law and other legislation has increased to combat image piracy and litigation. All of this places greater responsibility upon this Museum which, in turn, increases our costs and workloads.

In order to meet such situations we have been forced to impose a number of restrictions upon the provision of copies of images whilst, at the same time, meeting our responsibilities in providing access to our Collections. At the present time most of our Collections are paper-based and therefore only accessible by a personal visit. However, we are working towards on-line catalogues and digitization in selected areas. The first area will be our paintings and drawings. All such developments will be announced on this web-site as they become available.
